How To Lower Cholesterol Without Medications?

Elevated levels of cholester cause irritation and inflammation of arterial walls  that leads  to atherosclerosis in the long run and unimagined damage to the health of heart and vascular system. Cholesterol can be managed and lowered with judicious choice of diet and changed outlook with lot of activity and exercises. The artificial lowering of cholesterol by powerful toxic chemical medications opens new vistas of further degenerating process of heart and blood vascular system eventually leading to death.

High level of cholesterol is mother of all heart diseases. The various diseases of arteries, veins, cad, atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis sclerosis, atherosclerosis, and

obesity arise directly from cholesterol concentration in the blood stream. When blood composition becomes concentrated than the lumen of arteries is decreased eventually leading to restricted supply of blood to various organs. Plaques of blood deposit in the arteries. If we control the factors that increase the quantity of fats in our blood than the cholesterol formation can be checked. From where, we derive fats and cholesterol in our blood. What are sources of fats and cholesterol? You might know there are two kinds of cholesterol namely good and bad. In medical parlance these are called LDL and HDL.LDL is bad cholesterol and HDL is healthy and good cholesterol. Low density lipoproteins are richest in cholesterol and have maximum association with atherosclerosis; whereas high density lipoprotein is protective against arthrosclerosis. Very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) carries much of triglycerides and has less marked effect than LDL.
The easy way to rid of LDL is to eat food and take diet free of this bad cholesterol. The eggs, animal meat and milk and various products of milk are good source of bad cholesterol. Many research studies have demonstrated the harmful effects of diet congaing large quantities of saturated fats (eggs, meat, milk etc) which raise the plasma cholesterol level. This form of diet is consumed by more affluent and wealthy society people who are at greater risk of developing atherosclerosis. So we should avoid these products in our daily diet. On the contrary we should increase the quantity of HDL in our daily diet to counteract the bad effects of LDL. The diet rich in good cholesterol takes bad cholesterol from blood stream to the liver where it is metabolized and gets eliminated. Nutritional supplements help in lowering high level of bad cholesterol. These are hundreds times better and safe than prescriptions of drugs that has many side effects. Sometimes these adverse effects prove more fatal even the original diseases for which these are taken. Secondly the natural nutritional supplements are cost effective also. Some of the proven nutritional supplements that have proven record of lowering cholesterol are mentioned below.

Diet

The diet low in saturated fats and high in poly –unsaturated fats (fish and fish oils) lowers the plasma cholesterol level in a dramatic way. Aside from lipid rich diet high intake of calories from carbohydrates, proteins, alcohol and sweets has very adverse effects on the deposition of lipid molecules in the lumen of arteries. Diminish your alcohol intake to the minimum level if your cholesterol level is showing high ranking. It is essential to control your diet if you wish to control your cholesterol level in the blood stream. Taking of conventional medicines to control your cholesterol without controlling your diet is just like adding kerosene oil to the fire by extinguishing it with sprinkling of water.

Lecithin

Lecithin is phosphorous containing complex and having immense value in lowering body cholesterol. It is the main lipid component in biological membranes, like our cell membranes or rigid cell walls of plants. Now commercial lecithin is also available in the market. Lecithin is mainly produced from vegetable sources Lecithin naturally occurs in the foods and diets that we take, especially rich foods, such as

egg yolk, soybeans, grains, wheat germ, fish, legumes, yeast, peanuts, etc.. Lecithin has very favorable influence upon the nutritive condition and especially on the blood composition and hence its use in anemia, convalescence, neurasthenia, insomnia and blood cholesterols.

Vitamins

Vitamins prevent the damage to the inner lining of arteries caused by high level of cholesterol. The statin drugs like Lipitor, Zocor, Mevacor, and Crestor used to lower cholesterol adversely affect the metabolism of liver. Along with diet with low saturated fats we should take lot of vitamins especially vitamin c.Vitamins c, e, and niacin are good examples of nutritional supplements. Vitamin c is water soluble and it is not stored in our body as buffer. Lemon is good natural source of vitamin c. Vitamin C contains antioxidants that reduce heart attack risk by dissolving cholesterol and preventing its deposition along walls of arteries subsequently lowering cholesterol. Vitamin E prevents the oxidation of cholesterol. Vitamin E is said to help prevent the accumulation of cholesterol in the linings of the arteries in cholesterol plaques. Vitamin E also prevents the process of inflammation, tightening and constricting the arteries which are seen as precursor to and proceed to heart attack or stroke B-complex supplement includes B12, B6, folic acid and niacin. All four of these vitamins are considered good for the health of heart and blood can serve to lower cholesterol. Niacin, in particular, is recommended by many nutritional experts, has the distinct quality of lowering LDL cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol), while raising HDL cholesterol ("good" cholesterol).

Green vegetables

Take lot of green vegetables saying good bye to animal meats. These strengthen our immune system and assist in right metabolic processes of our body and provide us with rich micro nutrients.

Liver

All depends on the health of liver. Live is our metabolic factory and is largest gland of our body weighing 1400—1600gms in males and 1200—1400 in females. Do you know that live has double blood supply? The portal vein brings the venous blood from the intestines and spleen. The hepatic artery coming from the celiac axis supplies arterial blood the liver. The venous drainage from liver is into right and left hepatic veins which enter the inferior vena cava of the heart. The dual supply provides sufficient protection to the liver against infarction. All fats are metabolized in liver. Take those food articles which strengthen the working of liver. Take one piece of Amla daily empty stomach. It is such a wonderful natural medicine that you can not imagine its medicinal values. It is anti constipation and anti bad cholesterol. The lipids synthesized in liver include cholesterol and cholesterol esters, phospholipids, and triglycerides. These lipids are insoluble in water and are carried in circulation with three major types of lipoproteins namely high density lipoproteins, low density lipoproteins, very low density lipoproteins. Estimation of total lipid and cholesterol is carried in patients with high risk of liver diseases and heart patients. This is called lipid profile.
Exercises and strolling
If you are already suffering from obesity and cholesterol problems than say good bye to all dietary products and saturated fats that are rich source of cholesterol. Do lot of exercises for burn of the extra calories of fats in your body in the open air with lot of oxygen. Never eat foods rich in spices. There is no way to shed extra fat your muscles than to vigorous exercising and hard working. Have you ever seen the toiling masses have no health problem of fats and cholesterol?
